Don't you wish...

Don't you wish that you could be this happy, even if it was just occasionally!?

Tehya is this happy all the time, no matter what! If she was human, she'd probably be one those highly annoying people who are perky at 6am without coffee! Fortunately, this type of personality is much more endearing and less annoying in dogs!

Before & After

Antare before I cornered him for a brushing!

Part of the pile of fur that came off Antare in about 10 minutes

Antare after, looking much more handsome and just a tad ticked!

Un-freaking-believable....

At first I thought I was still feeling the effects from Saturday night's Tequila.....

but I'm sober and it's still snowing!

The young dogs are happy. The seniors are staying in the house and looking rather disgusted!

There a fire in the woodstove again!

My pretty new lawn chairs are covered! At least I didn't waste any money buying flowers yesterday!

Hiking with Heyoka...

Heyoka needed some one-on-one time today and we both needed some exercise. So we spent a couple hours exploring the Trans-Canada Trail. Not all of the dogs are allowed back there. It's rather infested with porcupines in some sections. Heyoka has enough brains(I don't think I've ever said that about him before!) to leave the porcupines alone. He learned his lesson the first time he met one!

"Where should we go, Ma?"

He was not a fan of this bridge across Wolf Creek. It took him several tries to get all the way across. He is also not a fan of moving water so swimming was out of the question! The bridge is actually very solid, much improved over the old log bridge that used to be there!

A slightly different view of the mountain we see out of the front window, Golden Horn.

The forest is getting quite colorful again. There were wildflowers starting to bloom everywhere.

We hiked up to a little lake.

Heyoka decided not to wait til we got to the easy bank access. He charged down the steep side and went for a dip. He likes ponds, not rivers! I will never understand why he shakes while he's still in the water. He's smart about porcupines, but other things.....

My Happy Malamute!

He must have been hot on the way home. He found a quiet spot in Wolf Creek to get a drink. Or he knew we were close to the truck and he wanted to make sure it smelled like wet dog!
