Tonight for the first time in his life, Antare walked through the front door, under his own power, with just a moment's hesistation and right past me!
Usually he comes in the side door, into the arctic entry, but only if he's following another dog, only if the door is wide open and I hide behind it.
Tonight, he acted like a "normal" dog
Sometimes it doesn't take much to make my day!

We think that is spectacular and hardly a little thing at all. As a family of rescues, we celebrate each one of these "little" things as they happen (sometimes quietly so as not to freak out the celebrated canine).

Reminds me of SmokeMutt's arrival - holed up on the front porch on the
coldest night of the year - I could
almost hear his teeth *chattering*.
Cinder ran him around for a while
then invited him in. He about had a
heart attack when he first spotted ME!
We were *cool* in less than a week;
but he feared most men for almost a year
and a half - with just a few notable exceptions.
Doc Mike was his second buddy!
Sometimesit takes a while

My mom knows the feelings of little things being special!

Hello Friend, We think that is spectacular and hardly a little thing at all.
Antare, your smiling face in this picture makes ME smile! Which I am glad to do because you made your mum happy today. Good on you, handsome one!
